The majority of computer-based work can be arranged to be done solely via online contact.   I do quick and inexpensive photo editing--fix your photos and give inexpensive and meaningful gifts for this holiday season; most jobs $7.50.  I also can help you with your year-end work: write formal letters, create flyers, answer your questions about your computer system/network/programs/user problems/troubleshooting. I can do custom programming and networking: Windows including Vista, Apple/Mac, Unix/Linux. Yes, I'm one of the many laid-off software engineers! Let my loss be your gain... fees negotiable and are being kept low on purpose due to the economic problems we are all facing. 

If  you are looking for someone who can be physically present where you are located, then fyi, I am currently residing in Santa Barbara County, California.  I can travel to your location if travel costs are compensated.  I am also open to offers of contract or regular employment, and would consider relocating if the right job came along.  My resume and references are  available upon request.
